This Mother’s Day, Rediscover You
[Note: If your mother, motherhood, or Mother’s Day brings up complicated emotions for you, please feel free to skip this blog and return to it another day - only if and when it feels right for you.]
Mother’s Day is a time for celebration - of love, sacrifice, strength, and all the ways moms show up for others. But today, I want to invite you to reflect on a quieter part of the story: how do you show up for yourself?
In a recent coaching session, a client shared how hard it’s been to prioritize her own goals - going back to school and growing her personal fitness business - without feeling waves of mom guilt. Like many mothers, she felt torn between investing in herself and being the ever-present parent.
Here’s the truth we uncovered together: investing in yourself isn’t selfish - it’s essential.
When you take time to pursue your dreams, nurture your passions, and care for your own well-being, you don’t take away from your children - you add to the depth, presence, and strength you bring to motherhood. You lead by example. You show them what it means to be whole.
At Desert Blue Coaching, I work with women who are navigating the space between who they are to everyone else - and who they want to be for themselves. The transition can feel murky, even impossible at times. But it’s also where transformation lives.
If you’ve been asking:
Who am I outside of motherhood?
Is it okay to want something for myself?
How do I balance my dreams with my family?
You’re not alone. And coaching can help.
Together, we’ll explore what matters most to you, name the goals you've buried beneath obligation, and take brave steps toward the life you envision - not someday, but starting now. Because you deserve to feel fulfilled, empowered, and aligned with your purpose.
This Mother’s Day, I invite you to give yourself the gift of self-discovery.
Discover your voice. Own your path.
Let’s walk it together.
With gratitude,
Niki
